FOUND

MFA THESIS PROJECT

As we enter 2050, a lot has changed in the past few years. We are using the resources we have left to mitigate the effects of climate change. There’s less production of fun or useless items because these are seen as less critical to our survival. And we still have the rising problem of e-waste and scrap, as we now accumulate 120 million tons annually. We have less to worry about as automation takes care of the most critical jobs. Yet there are still those in our population that can feel the need to contribute to their communities.

That’s why we are introducing FOUND. Found stands for Fun Occupations United in Doing. We seek to recover our abundance of e-waste for other uses, providing jobs to human workers who want to contribute to their community. This happens through our seven-step system of work, we call The Heptagon Economy™. It consists of seven jobs paired up into four groups, where work happens around the clock, with one group handing off one job to the next group. After a year of the trial run, we have witnessed the impact FOUND will have in our communities now and in the future. FOUND has already impacted the lives of our workers, providing them with meaningful employment that allows them to contribute to the future resourcefulness and progress of their communities.
