Originating from a question I had about my parents’ decision to immigrate to America, I started working directly with images that come from a curated selection of magazines that belong to my parents. These magazines, which they have kept over the years, contain images that have created their ideas of America. Images of happy families, perfect cars, dream homes, and vast landscapes. Each individual image promises effortless happiness. It is all about your home, your choice, your family, your experience, your situation. The idea of America inhabits these images.
